Brief

Vietnam is one of Asia's most open economies. The manufacturing, IT and high technology sectors form a large and fast-growing part of its economy. Vietnam is the largest producer of cashew nuts and black pepper and second largest rice exporter after Thailand.

Vietnam’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) legislation is comprehensive, covering every aspect of the protection of IP in line with the international standards required by TRIPS. There is a formal customs recordal system, allowing IPR owners to register their marks with Customs to monitor counterfeit goods.
