COUNTRY: PAKISTAN
Brief Pakistan is a rapidly developing country. Its economy has a strong service sector which accounts for more than half of GDP. Other important industries include textiles, food processing and the iron and steel industries.
The simultaneous establishment of IPO-Pakistan and empowerment of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) and the Pakistan Customs in 2005 is testimony to Pakistan’s commitments towards strengthening IPR enforcement in the country. However, IP awareness in Pakistan is low. In order to enhance general public awareness, IPO-Pakistan has spearheaded numerous seminars and programs across the country.
